Failed the CT Registry? We can help.  Learn More

You didn’t pass the CT Registry, now what?

If you have another try left, you’re in luck with our Bounce Back Program.

A natural part of preparing for the Computed Tomography exam is wondering what happens if you fail! While test-taking nerves can cause some concern about gaining your CT certification, it’s critical to know that the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) exam pass rate is higher than you might expect.

The ARRT CT Registry Exam Pass Rate

The ARRT routinely posts CT exam score results. There is some variance in the pass rate from year to year, but each testing period, an overall majority of test-takers do pass the exam.

  • July 2017 – June 2018: 75.4% pass rate
  • July 2018 – June 2019: 74.7% pass rate

During those two years, 10,151 students took the exam for the first time. You’re allowed three attempts to pass the ARRT CT exam within three years. The three-year period begins with the starting date of your initial ARRT exam window. Your eligibility ends after three unsuccessful exam attempts or three years, whichever comes first.
